Liffe 2017, the 28th Ljubljana International Film Festival, returns to the halls of Cankarjev dom, Kina Komuna, Kinodvora and Kina Šiška between November 8 and 19, 2017. Liffe 2017, 28. Ljubljana International Film Festival will be on the program between November 8 and 19, 2017. Screenings will take place at the usual locations around Ljubljana: v Cinema hall, Kinu Komun, Kinu Šiška and in Cankar's home. As every year, the films will be divided into thematic sets. Assembly Perspectives includes the official competition set of young directors; Previews will present the latest world film highlights; assembly Kings and Queens will show the works of recognizable masters of contemporary cinema; Panorama of world cinema includes festival favorites from five continents; Extravagance is a set of midnight cinema showing bolder and titillating content; the short films will run under the title section Europe in brief; Cinema balloon and will take care of quality screenings for the youngest.
Special set, Liff's Focus 2017, will be ordained French production of recent years, which pays special attention acute contemporary topics – xenophobia, refugees, the financial crisis, the rise of right-wing populism. In addition to the film screenings, the Liffe 2017 festival will be held companion program, during which it will be possible to participate in a conversation with guests and various workshops. Detailed program will be available on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, when it will also start ticket resale.
