Audi's sphere concept vehicle series has reached its peak with the fourth model, the Audi Activesphere. This four-door crossover coupé boasts a versatile body design that measures 4.98 meters in length, with impressive ground clearance and large 22-inch wheels, making it a true off-road talent.
The rear of the Activesphere Sportback can be converted into an open cargo bed ("active back") at the push of a button, perfect for transporting recreational equipment such as electric bikes or water and winter sports equipment. The Activesphere combines opposites in perfect synthesis with the drivetrain and suspension, making it equally adept on and off the road. The steering wheel and pedals allow the driver to actively control the car, while at the same time offering autonomous driving for a more relaxed time on the road.
Activesphere, designed at the Audi Design Studio in Malibu, is the brainchild of the head of the studio Gael Buzyn and his team. Buzyn describes the Activesphere as "a new type of crossover that cleverly combines the elegance of an Audi Sportback, the practicality of an SUV and true off-road capabilities."
