Netflix is now also available in Slovenia. The currently largest provider of on-demand video content has expanded to 130 countries, including Slovenia. The first month of using the Netflix service will be free, and the price for the starter package will be 8 euros. Will Internet pirates be out of business? What about movie theaters? Will they start dating?
Provider of multimedia content Netflix is finally available also in Slovenia. This was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2016 by the head of Netflix Reed Hastings, and Slovenia joins 129 other countries in which this American provider entered, which currently has 70 million subscribers and has toured until now in 60 markets. With this, Slovenia gets a lot of content that many people have accessed until now through an illegal route (torrents), but time will tell what this will mean for the piracy business. Criticism quickly came that other countries do not have as wide an offer as the domestic market, but Netflix is already planning software expansion (currently offers around 600 hours of new content). Slovenia cannot yet count on Slovenian subtitles and dubbing, which remains in the domain of 21 languages.

But Netflix is not only video on demand provider (its competitors are Amazon, HBO, CBS, Apple, Hulu, Sling TV and Roku, which are not yet available in Slovenia), because in addition to distribution, it also creates original content. Here it is worth mentioning the exceptional series House of Cards and Marco Polo, as well as the feature film Beast of No Nation. The first month the Netflix service will be available for registered users for free, and later there will be a basic monthly subscription (the ability to play on one device at a time) 7.99 euros. For the possibility of playing content on two electronic devices at the same time, it will be necessary to pay 9.99 euros, and 11.99 euros to watch on four at the same time. The latter package also brings Ultra HD image quality (UHD), while the first two are "merely" HD. In addition to your e-mail address, you will need to register PayPal account and credit card.
