New Peugeot 308 he does not hide his ambitions. Since its launch, it has been highly regarded for its high-quality and modern technological equipment, which makes it one of the best in its class. And this applies both to its highly effective plug-in hybrid, gasoline and diesel engines, which will be joined next year by an electric version, as well as built-in advanced technologies that are usually built into high-end models. The new generation of the 308 model is a technological standard bearer, boasting eight technological jewels that simplify the daily life of its users.

One of the things that we usually miss for perfect visibility is camera cleaning system, which gets dirty while driving in rain, mud, and snow, and we have to wipe it manually. The reversing camera is nowadays already considered a classic driving assistance system, in the new Peugeot 308 it is HD camera upgraded with lens cleaning nozzle. Peugeot has installed a nozzle on the rear bumper of the new 308, to which the liquid for washing the windows is supplied, which removes dirt from the reversing camera. The reversing camera lens is also automatically cleaned while the rear window is being washed.

Progress was also made in the field long-range blind spot monitoring. The new system detects an approaching vehicle using long-range ultrasonic radar meters at a distance of up to 75 meters. Classic systems detect a vehicle at a distance of 25 meters. In this way, the system warns the driver of a car or motorcycle approaching at high speed in the rear blind spot with a flashing light in the exterior mirror. Thanks to the extended range, it covers both lanes when necessary.

The new Peugeot 308 also has eyes on the back of its head. The French manufacturer added rear traffic alert. For example, when the driver reverses out of a parking space, the system warns him of other vehicles, bicycles or pedestrians approaching from behind, using radar sensors installed in the bumper. The system detects any moving obstacle at a distance of up to 40 meters approaching at a speed of up to 10 km/h. A warning will appear on the touch screen and an audible signal will sound.

Who hasn't dreamed of being able to drive at night with high beams on all the time, even if they are close to other road users? From now on, they make it possible advanced matrix headlights. This type of high beams include 20 LEDs, the illumination and power of which are constantly adjusted according to the external conditions detected by the camera on the top of the windshield. As a vehicle approaches (either from the opposite direction or from behind), the light segments of the high beams dim and switch off in the area around the detected vehicle, creating a shadow tunnel so that the driver is not dazzled by the light and the surroundings remain brightly lit.

The user of the new Peugeot 308 will be able to adjust some of the switches on the instrument panel to their needs. The vehicle may have installed under the center screen five "i-Toogles" switches, which can be set as desired to manage the most common functions used by the driver or passenger, such as shortcuts to special climate settings, radio station, favorite phone contacts, home navigation, etc.

Car manufacturers also pay a lot of attention to the air quality in the passenger cabin. The new Peugeot 308 is equipped with the air quality system (AQS – Air Quality System), which constantly monitors the quality of the air entering the passenger compartment and automatically activates the recycling function when it detects pollution. With this, it strives to provide its passengers with even greater protection. In addition to the AQS system, the Clean Cabin system for air treatment by filtering harmful exhaust gases and solid particles is available from the GT equipment level onwards. Air quality is displayed on the central touchscreen.

It is also increasingly used in vehicles voice control. The easiest way to activate some of the vehicle's functions is to talk to it! Like some high-end models, the new Peugeot 308 is equipped as standard with a voice assistant that allows you to speak commands to access all information and entertainment functions (phone calls, radio, music, navigation, etc.) and air conditioning (temperature setting, etc.).

Smartphone applications have become a mandatory part of car use. Users of the new Peugeot 308 can, among other things, remotely activate or program the heating or air conditioning and thus enjoy the ideal temperature in the passenger compartment when leaving. In addition to guaranteed comfort, this function also ensures optimal range of the plug-in hybrid version. For plug-in hybrid versions the MyPeugeot® app allows the user to check, start and schedule battery charging remotely.
