On Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16, Tobačna mesto in Ljubljana will host the main event as part of the Festival of Urban Culture of Slovenia, #FUKSi 2018. The concert part will feature one of the most recognizable big British bands, Morcheeba, techno pioneer Umek, champion of Baltic electronic scenes, Ten Walls, always playful Matter, eclectic Sladica, as well as Mike Vale, Urban Pfeifer and Žiga K from the Vala 202 team.
The 11th edition of the Weekend Media Festival is coming to the old tobacco factory in Rovinj from September 20 to 23, where communicators from all over the region will meet. At lectures, round tables and workshops, they will examine current topics and trends, from politics, through digitization, literature, and an expedition to the South Pole, which resulted in plenty of interesting discussions.

From March 29 to April 28 this year, the 19th Orto Fest will take place. As many as 21 local and 7 foreign music groups and performers will perform at Orto Fest this year, and it is extremely colorful this year as well. Among others, you will be able to see groups and performers: Hamo & Tribute 2 Love (SLO), Laibach (SLO), Jinx (HR), Gutalax (CZ), Slon in Sadež (SLO), Klemen Klemen (SLO), Adi Smolar (SLO), Panda (SLO), Zmelkoow (SLO), The Toasters (USA), Flirrt (SLO), Zlatko in Optimisti (SLO) and, to close the festival, Omar Naber & Band (SLO).
The wine festival is already entering its third decade, as this year we will celebrate the 21st Slovenian wine festival, where visitors will be able to see obvious changes, namely the event will be organized by a new company. At the location where the festival was born, in Cankarjev dom, winemakers will present themselves as always, but the cuisine will be slightly changed due to the new location - they will not be able to afford live cooking, so the main focus of the festival will be on cuisine.
The Golden Drum international festival of creativity is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and for this purpose is returning to the Slovenian coast, to its first home - Portorož. The festival will take place between October 17 and 19 at the Hotel Slovenija, and it will not only bring a change in location, but also a renewed competition program. 22 international experts will evaluate and determine which works reflect the latest trends in the advertising and creative industries.
In Velenje again this year, children and parents will have fun together with the most famous red-haired girl in the world, Pika Nogavička. From September 23 to 29, she will draw smiles on the faces of children, who will be educated but also entertained at various exhibitions, concerts for the youngest, workshops and creative workshops. The theme of this year's festival is Animal Kingdom.
The oldest festival of lesbian and gay films in Europe will once again this year present cinematographic novelties concerning homosexual themes at various venues in the capital and Slovenia. The 34th LGBT Film Festival 2018 is an important socialization and social event, as foreign and domestic filmmakers will try to open many perspectives on the issue of homosexuality through original films. Two Slovenian films will also be presented.
Between May 24 and 26, 2018, the 34th international festival Druga Godba 2018 will take place in Piran and Ljubljana. In the central part, 15 famous musical names will be presented: among others Ibeyi, James Holden & The Animal Spirits, Kokoko!, N' Toko, Olfamošto and many others. Tickets are already on sale.
As the central Slovenian theater festival, Borštnik's meeting has been enriching Slovenian theater and cultural space for more than half a century. Every year, the second half of October is colored by culture, and visitors witness high-quality productions created by foreign and Slovenian artists. This year's edition will be renewed, but will still be based on established approaches from previous years, on which the festival built its identity.

Animateka - the international animated film festival has been showing short animated films from Eastern and Central Europe since 2004. This year, 669 films arrived at their address, among which 35 were Slovenian. Artists from 63 countries sent their films, and an expert committee chose the best ones, which you can watch between December 3rd and 9th. The selection is diverse, so you can expect a quality program in which you can also find something for yourself.
