Ariel is a small British manufacturer of vehicles that are primarily intended for fun and adrenaline. This does not mean that they are childish, as there is a lot of engineering input and smart technology behind them. With the desire to catch the future already, they embarked on a bold project called HIPERCAR.
P40 is the secret name of this supercar. Ariel HYPERCAR is actually an acronym for the words “HIgh PERformance CArbon Reduction”, which could be translated as a high performance super sports car with light weight and carbon body. P40 is supposed to be two-seater sportsman, which, unlike other Ariels, will have a closed body type, an electric power generator for a longer range and an acceleration that will shoot it from 0 to 100 km/h in all 2.4 seconds, and up to 160 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. This is possible because four electric motors, which individually produce 295 horsepower, and together huge 1189 horsepower.
42 kWh battery will be powered by the 4-wheeled version of the HIPERCAR, and rumors also mention a less powerful variant that will be powered by rear wheel pair and more durable 56 kWh battery. Above the electric motor in the last two wheels in the P40, they installed another electric generator, which provides honey 160 and 193 kilometers of distance traveled. The new Atom makes it possible 15 minute racing, but then at least 50 minute stop, to recharge the batteries. HIPERCAR is supposed to have incredible 1800 Nm of torque, for which a special tire slip control system has been developed, since all this enormous power must somehow be transferred to the road. Top speed will be limited to 257 km/h, and HIPERCAR should see the light of day in in 2020.
