After about four years of fierce battle with the remaining two members of the German "holy trinity" in the upper middle class, Audi decided it was time to rejuvenate their mid-sized business sedan. With this, the new A6 should continue to compete much more easily and similarly successfully with the previously mentioned ones, and to achieve this, they slightly refreshed its exterior, specifically renovated the engines and offered some missing equipment and technological "sweets".
On the outside, the refreshed A6 can be recognized by its slightly more modern lines in the form of more three-dimensional "single frame" masks of the engine, on the side of the black borders of the side windows, and on the back, the rear lights have been changed and the shape of the (now trapezoidal) exhaust pipes has been changed, which better embrace the contours of the bumper. The most important change on the outside is the headlights, which no longer shine with halogen technology (bi-xenon ones are standard), but can take over the role of lighting at the customer's request LED lights, which can also shine in advanced matrix techniques.
At first glance, there are even fewer changes inside than on the exterior, and most of them will be recognized only by the owners of the current A6 model before the renovation. The appearance of the gear lever is slightly different, a little more advanced it is also infotainment a system which according to the new supports LTE network and can also connect and check train arrival list and such.
More innovations are hidden from view. Namely, the engineers specifically renovated the entire range of engines, which consists of five diesel and three gasoline units, which are now on average 22 percent more economical. Buyers thus have a choice of engines with capacities between 110 and 245 kilowatts, and all of them already meet Euro6 requirements regarding exhaust cleanliness. It is the "cleanest" in the range 2.0-liter TDI ultra, which on average emits only 109 grams of CO2 emissions, which means an average consumption of 4.2 liters.

For now, the Quattro drive is only available for the 3.0-liter TFSI, S6 and RS6 versions and in combination with all six-cylinder diesel units. At the same time as the renovation, it is also available refreshed allroad quattro, which can be imagined in combination with a 3.0-liter TFSI gasoline engine or one of three six-cylinder diesel engines.
Prices on the gasoline side for the sedan start at 43.500- (2.0 TDI ultra), respectively 43,900 euros (1.8 TFSI 140 kW), for the station wagon it is necessary to add about three thousand euros to this, for those who want to drive to the garage (or rather to the field) allroad quattro but they must have them ready when visiting the salon at least 62,780 euros.
