Ecocapsule – a self-sufficient mobile home powered by wind and solar

Ecocapsule is a self-sufficient mobile home of a futuristic design by the Bratislava office Nice Architects, which offers a stay off the grid for up to one year. Each unit is equipped with solar panels and a wind turbine and designed to capture rainwater. The interior has a kitchenette with running water and a hot shower.

Low energy self-contained cottage Ecocapsules or the eco-capsule of the Slovak office Nice Architects it can serve different purposes. Like home, as research station, as touristic apartment, as shelter or as humanitarian unit for crisis hotspots. Anyone interested will be able to order it by the end of 2015, and expect delivery in the first half in 2016. The eco-capsule measures 4.5 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width and 2.5 meters in height, and the total area is eight square meters. Although it seems little, the designers guarantee that they will be in this one weighing a ton and a half residential units can more than comfortably accommodate up to two adults at the same time.
