Lamb Engineering Wide Boy: a futuristic motorcycle with a 6-cylinder engine

Lamb Engineering Wide Boy

Lamb Engineering comes from Salisbury, England and experienced its beginnings, like most similar companies, in a garage at the end of the 80s of the last century. The team now consists of 6 people and a dog, involved in CNC milling services, component assembly, welding, design and chemical painting. In addition, they regularly participate in competitions in the creation of unique motorcycles, the fruit of which is the Wide Boy, a motorcycle with a 6-cylinder engine.

6-cylinder engine comes from Honda CBX, which was presented for the first time in 1978 and they sold it until 1982. It had an engine 1,047 cubic centimeters of volume and 105 horsepower. Due to the clever design, the 6-cylinder in-line engine is not much wider than conventional engines. Wide Boy is the work of one of the most experienced constructors at to Lamb Engineering Larry Houghton. He started with an engine, around which he designed a motorcycle frame, with many contradictory, one might even say zigzag lines. The rear single swingarm is borrowed from the Ducati 916 and the 17-inch wheels from the Ducati 996. The front fork and handlebars follow the lines of the frame and are the product of Houghton's imagination and hand-crafting.

The exhaust system is made of more than 6 meters of pipes from stainless steel. Also unique and completely it is a futuristic container for fuel, which is full of sharp lines. The seat, or rather, the piece of leather, is intended more for aesthetic appearance than for comfort while driving. It's true that with uniquely designed motorcycles, you have to forget about utility, because they have design and vision always take precedence over practicality.
