Over the past few years, fashion collaborations between high-flying fashion names and fast fashion purveyors such as Target, H&M, Uniqlo and Topshop have become commonplace. Let's see which ones have inspired us the most over time and created high street fashion trends.
Alexander Wang & H&M
Swedish fashion mogul H&M recently announced his latest fashion collaboration. For the provider of the fastest fashion, he will design the famous Alexander Wang. It was only a matter of time when a spark would jump between the extremely cool aura of the young designer and H&M, because Wang is one of those that we adore and almost everyone wants to wear. The commercial motto "prêt-à-porter for all" has touched him too, and soon we will be able to wear pieces with a prestigious signature at prices that we can actually afford.
Kate Moss & Topshop
Among the star collaborations, we were most impressed by the queen of British street fashion Kate Moss, who is slowly making her way from a model to a fashion designer and editor. She is one of the few whose fashion collaborations have actually impressed, as various singers, actresses and models rarely manage to truly captivate with their perfumes and designs. Hers Topshop collections inspired by the signature rocker, bohemian and (in its heyday extremely popular) heroin-chic looks are always snapped up by young fashionistas in record time. Kate has never called herself a fashion designer, as she admits to taking inspiration from her own closet, overflowing with vintage fashion. She simply chooses what she likes, prepares a few combinations and presents them to her design team.
Karl Lagerfeld & H&M
In 2004, the collection that he created was breathtaking H&M designed by a fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld. In the fashion world, when the collaboration was announced, it ended strongly, as few thought that a person who has the status of a fashion deity would collaborate with a provider of fast fashion.
Jil Sander & Uniqlo
After a series of business complications that befell the fashion house Jil Sander, the queen of minimalism decided to collaborate with the Japanese fast fashion provider. The first collection for Uniqlo, which received an extremely positive response from all fans of its refined design, was launched in the fall of 2009. The fashion brand Uniqlo experienced worldwide recognition, and Jil once again secured a bright future for herself in the world of fashion.
Mary Katrantzou & Topshop
Mary recently announced the happy news. Soon we will be able to wear her recognizable brightly colored clothes, because in collaboration with adidas she will launch a collection that we can actually afford. A fabulous digital print on adidas clothing? We think the news is absolutely fantastic! Mary has previously worked with a fast fashion provider in history, and he was the lucky one Topshop.
Lanvin & H&M
Do you still remember the euphoria of the collection they worked on? Lanvin and H&M? We were only impressed by the announcement video, but when we saw the collection live from the fantastic hands of Alber Elbaz, we were completely enchanted. However, it is hard to resist the extreme sophistication and timeless elegance. Especially when it is available to us at prices that do not revolve above the clouds.
