Classic motorhomes are too big and bulky, caravans are impractical and not flexible enough. What do you choose? The new Volkswagen California small camper, a vehicle created for camping enthusiasts. Seven seats, as many as five beds, a retractable roof and two versions of the itinerary. All this with the basic Beach model, which, like the other two "Californias" of the sixth generation, will initially be powered by a TDi diesel unit, and later by a gasoline engine.
New ones Volkswagen California, the sixth in a row, will please all camping enthusiasts. At a glance maybe a commercial vehicle, but when it lifts retractable roof and opens sliding roof, it can also be seen from the outside that it is a fully equipped camping vehicle. Three packages will be available: Beach, Coast and Ocean. The basic Beach model (the price for it will vary around 40 thousand euros) will await you with seven seats, the option five beds, a manual sliding roof and a choice between a two-seater bench with drawer or a three-seater with an extendable table.
Among the other equipment we list folding chairs in the tailgate, curtains behind the first seats and movable picnic table stowed away in sliding doors. The Coast model has "only" five seats, but slightly more elaborate furniture, which is primary made of aluminum with wood additions. The refrigerator is 42 liters, and it is on the stove a pair of gas burners. California Ocean goes one step further. It's here double glazing, electric-hydraulic adjustable sliding roof, adjustable LED lighting and extra heating (Climatronic). Regardless of the model, every Volkswagen California has a folding double bed in the cabin and sunroof, a folding sofa and an intelligent energy management system installed start-stop.

Under the hood of the Volkswagen California we find the latest diesel engine with power from 62 to 150 kW, and it will be there soon gasoline with 110 and 150 kW respectively. A drive will also be available as an option on four wheels and automatic transmission.
