The American specialist for off-road vehicles is expanding downwards, among the younger clientele and in general into the segment of smaller SUVs. The importer of the Jeep brand brought the renegade to us at first only for a short time, but starting in the fall, it will mix up the tough competition among smaller SUVs. 2WD as well as 4WD versions available. Prices are still unknown.
The renegade model and with it the Jeep brand are leading into the segment of smaller SUVs, alongside competitors such as the Nissan Juke, Škoda Yeti and the like. In addition to maneuverability in the city, its features will also be the ability to overcome difficult transport terrains, which they take care of 22 centimeter offset from the ground, active-drive four-wheel drive and reducer and select terrain system, and for those who only care about driving on well-maintained roads, many versions with 2WD drive will also be available.
Engines will be available: 1.4 liter turbo gasoline engine, and on the diesel side there will be a choice of two aggregates, namely 1.6- and 2.0-liter diesels. The gearbox will basically be a six-speed manual, but there will also be a choice of (read and write) nine-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of safety and advanced technology, the renegade wants to stand out just as much as it does in terms of design, which it achieves with the parkview reversing camera, collision warning systems, lane departure warning systems, blind spot monitoring and by the Uconnect system for hands-free communication and a seven-inch Multi-view screen. There will also be an independent panoramic roof with removable panels - My Sky.
Equipment packages there will be four: sport, longitude, limited and trailhawk. If the first one is intended for sporty and young buyers, the longitude puts comfort in the foreground and is intended for a slightly older clientele, the limited version will appeal to such more sophisticated buyers, while those who want a top-quality off-road vehicle will reach for the trailhawk.
The Renegade will hit the roads on this side of the Alps in the fall, when prices will also be announced, but the basic is expected price under 20 euro ones thousands.
