Roborace: will we follow the driverless formula in the future?

A racer without a racer

Do you also find Formula 1 boring? But perhaps the passion for formula awakens in you the new world championship within Formula E (a series where electric sparks jump instead of gasoline vapors), announced by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), called Roborace. And what is so special about this championship? It will take place without drivers, and you can see the bold concept of the racing car in more detail below.

We will monitor in the future formula without drivers? Roborace is a newly established indoor championship formula E (the one-hour test will take place two hours before the start ePrix). FIA appointed as the main designer of the racing car Daniel Simon, a futuristic vehicle designer known for his work in sci-fi films such as Tron: Legacy and Oblivion, he has already designed Bugattis, drones, motorcycles and spaceships.

And who will take the wheel of the racing cars in the Roborace World Championship? Who else but artificial intelligence. The first race will already take place during the 2016/17 Formula E season. Car design you can see in the video above, and the rules of the competition are as follows. Existing Formula E teams will have the right to make modifications software (all racing cars will otherwise be the same), but it will be forbidden to tamper with the racing car itself. Each of the ten teams will control two, and participation is optional. And what is the purpose of the championship? Improve understanding of autonomous technology and the development of future technologies.
