You probably never thought of salting as something that had artistic value, let alone sexy. Salt and pepper food. There is absolutely no art to this, except that you salt the food just right. But Nusret Gökçe, a Turkish chef who takes salting very seriously, disagrees. His unique method of salting has now brought him worldwide fame. Salting is his artistic signature and it works like sprinkling magic dust on the food.
Even before it is Nusret Gökçe, turkish chef, meat expert and owner of a chain of Turkish restaurants Nusr-Et, became internet sensation, had a pretty decent following on Instagram, but after a video of him sexily salting meat went viral (yes, even salting food can be sexy), this number just exploded.
Because of this, he got the nickname Salt Bae (salt's best friend).

He also had the honor of becoming the first meme of 2017, and his fame is probably greatly contributed to by his macho look and, of course sunglasses, which he must wear when preparing meat. Who would have thought that we could sexualize meat so much.
