The 2017 winter vacation for primary and secondary schools will also take place in two parts. Schoolchildren who go to school in the area of south-eastern Slovenia come first, followed by students from the Gorenjska, Goriška, Notranjska-Kraska, Osrednjeslovenska and Zasava statistical regions and certain municipalities in south-eastern Slovenia a week later.

- the Podravka region
- Pomur region
- the Savin region
- Lower Sava region
February 25–4 March 2017, winter holidays for all schoolchildren from:
- Gorenje region
- Gorizia region
- Inner Karst region
- coastal-karst region
- the central Slovenian region
- the Zasava region
- the municipalities of Ribnica, Sodražica, Loški potok, Kočevje, Osilnica and Kostel
