The Parrot - a "trottle" drum that uses a smartphone and a DSLR camera

Anyone who has ever wanted to record a "vlog" (a video blog that wasn't pure improvisation) or a promotional video has already faced the fact that they forgot or mixed up the text and only managed to do it on the 14th try. If you deal with this on a daily basis, it can be quite time-consuming. At the TV stations, they solved this with "trotl" drums, which until now were too expensive for home use. But now here's The Parrot, for which you only need a DSLR camera with recording capability and a smartphone.

Although slips sometimes brighten up recordings, they are not suitable for serious content. If you are recording presentation video for a Kickstarter campaign or if you want to sell something to a potential customer, you simply cannot afford an unprofessional attitude. But everything the text sometimes it's hard to remember. They solved it on TV with "trotl" drums, which are too expensive for home use (from 1,500 euros upwards), and we also lack the rest professional recording equipment. But for the sake of quality DSLR cameras that can record and smartphones, this is no longer necessary, nor is it a "quick", because Brigham Arce created The Parrot, a pocket-sized (100 mm x 100 mm x 80 mm), feather-light (120 grams) and affordable "trotl" drum.

So to all those who "invest" or you record presentation and similar videos, now you no longer need to memorize the text like Sochi in high school, cut and paste clips, make ten or more attempts or record a video where you are reading, but it is obvious that you are not watching directly into the camera. The Parrot does all this for a tenth of the price (approx. 150 euros) of a classic troll drum. He managed to do this by shrinking to replace the drum glass with a double-sided one plexiglass (acrylic) mirror, where there is room for LCD, there is now room for smartphone.

Because he also managed to Kickstarter, you can expect it in regular sales in the last third in 2015.
