These are the friendliest cities for cyclists in the world - Ljubljana is in thirteenth place :)

Copenhagen is still a city that every cyclist wants to live in. A new ranking of the world's bicycle-friendly cities, the 2015 Copenhagenize Index, puts the Danish capital in first place. Out of more than a hundred world cities, they compiled a list of the best twenty, and our beautiful Ljubljana also made it to the excellent 13th place!

2015 Copenhagenize Index takes into account when choosing places which thirteen criteria – everything from infrastructure such as bike lanes, bike racks or the possibility of using shared city bikes, to the political and cultural climate for cyclists as well as the daily percentage of migrants who use bikes instead of cars.
The first three places were occupied by cities Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Utrecht, and Ljubljana thus landed on the honor thirteenth place. In the 2015 Copenhagenize Index, it was written that, as a newcomer, she secured her place among the top twenty smoothly and confidently, and that she is paving the way to the most cyclist-friendly city with its good and fast growing infrastructure.
A surprise in the ranking is certain the American city of Minneapolis, which managed to rank in eighteenth place. In the US, cycling culture is lagging far behind, but things are improving. Especially in the city of Minneapolis, where, despite the cold winters, there are more than 160 kilometers of bicycle lanes on the streets, and by 2020 they plan to add another 48 kilometers of protected bicycle paths.
