Eternal love? The couple who held hands for 700 years

For some, the commitment "until death do us part" is quite enough. Then there's a couple from Great Britain who have pledged eternal fidelity to each other, even in the afterlife. In Great Britain, during the search for the lost chapel of St. Morrel archaeologists from the University of Leicester found the 700-year-old skeleton of a couple who went to the afterlife hand in hand.

It is extremely well preserved skeleton steam from the 14th century, which was located in the place where it stood centuries ago chapel of St. Morel, otherwise popular pilgrimage point. In addition to them, they found nine others, which was a minor surprise for archaeologists, since there were no known cemeteries here, and besides, the chapel served other purposes than funeral ceremonies. These kinds of things were done back then in the church of St. Michael, which together with the cemetery rose into the sky in a nearby place Hallaton.

City of "crime". Instead of the remains of the chapel, they came across human skeletons.

Discovery human remains were also excavated many questionsa, who do not (yet) have the right answer. Among other things, why they are heavenly man and woman buried together, as this was not customary. But we probably don't need special explanations and browsing through the archives to find out why this was so. Love she was stronger than death and holding the skeletons by the hands is one more proof that this is indeed the case.

But that still doesn't explain the following. Who are these people? Because it was Hallaton in the Middle Ages a very busy place, they speculate that it could be a group of sick people, foreigners or criminals. At least one thing sticks history books. Christian burial traditions in the east-west direction, in which the head always faces east, i.e. towards the new birth.
