The Volvo V90 Cross Country is coming. Volvo's 90 family is expanding again. After the Swedish brand, now owned by the Chinese Geely, revealed the station wagon derivative of the V90 model in February, it has now presented a version for the hills – the Volvo V90 Cross Country, which differs from the station wagon in terms of a larger clearance of the body from the road and protective elements. The new Volvo is a combination of elegance and off-road ability.
New Volvo, Volvo V90 Cross Country, has serial four-wheel drive (4 x 4) and measures 496 centimeters in length. It is not officially a successor to the model XC70, which is also Cross Country, except with the XC designation, which means the same thing. However, the XC70 is the one to compare it to. From the predecessor it is for 15 centimeters longer, the wheelbase has also been extended by 13 centimeters, and the body is further six centimeters further from the driving surface (which means 21 centimeters from the ground). It's done on a modular platform SPA, which it shares with the rest of the family of large Volvos - S90, V90, XC90, the body is based on the model V90, and the philosophy is the same as the V70 XC and XC70.
It also shares drive motors with members of the large family, two diesel and two gasoline (all turbo). Under the hood, it will carry either D4 and D5 engines, which boast of 190 or 235 hp (140 or 173 kW), either T5 and T6 with 254 or 320 hp (187 or 235 kW). Later, Volvo will add another version to the range T8 twin engine hybrid, which will combine a 2-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor with a 9.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. The 'lung' capacity of the luggage compartment with the seats down is 1,526 litres.

In terms of design, they added to the V90 model protective trims and changed the engine mask, yet the Volvo V90 Cross Country is much more V90 and much less XC70. The interior as a whole it smells like luxury, and the buyer will be able to choose all the equipment himself.
”The V90 Cross Country sums up the elegance of the V90 model, but at the same time it transfers everything to the world, where capabilities that do not take into account terrain and weather conditions often come to light. At the same time, they ensure the highest standards of safety, comfort and driving pleasure. It's a real adventure package," said the new member club 90 described Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Car Group.
The Volvo V90 Cross Country will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show, and you can already see the first photos today. It should arrive in European showrooms at the end of March or initially April 2016.
