You will probably rarely get the answer "geography" when asked the question "What was (was) your favorite subject at school?". But if at school we were shown the maps that you will see below and not just the ones from the atlas and the textbook, this could well change. All of you who are no longer peeling school desks can clearly make up for the 'missed material' now.
Countries and regions according to measured IQ (intelligence quotient)
Geography has taught us many things. Because of it, we know how to read maps, or at least we knew how to read maps, list the main cities of Europe, spell out the name of the longest Slovenian river and describe the features of the relief, climate and soils of a certain area. But geography has left out much that is tangible, because if our brain is a map, its legend is full of abstract concepts. And since all these natural- and socio-geographic data have no real contact with the world, we can rarely draw conclusions from them that translate smoothly into reality.
This position was therefore filled today infographic maps, who pushed knowledge delivery beyond traditional boundaries. And because thanks to websites like Target Map grow like mushrooms after the rain, as they allow everyone to create their own and share it with the world, maybe one day we can expect children to learn with using the map the most popular browsers, the most popular European surnames or a map of the degree of friendliness of a country towards foreigners.
