Attention jazz lovers! The 55th Ljubljana Jazz Festival will serve us just the right amount of top-quality music, which will introduce us to the full summer of music.
This time, the organizers decided to focus on two topics from the rich jazz tradition. Piano and Norwegian jazz. The piano is experiencing a renaissance after several years of stagnation in the jazz world. This is how he will perform Joachim Kühn, a German pianistic genius and a brilliant jazz musician since the mid-sixties, who will perform solo and in a trio. Norwegian jazz is one of the most vital trends in European new jazz and one of the most prominent musical movements in the world. The colors of Norwegian jazz will be represented Jaga Jazzist, a nine-piece instrumental band considered one of Norway's most exciting and innovative bands.
They ignore genre restrictions and use trumpet, trombone, electric guitar, bass, tuba, bass clarinet, saxophone, keyboards, vibraphone and electronics to create timeless music. The Grammy winner will also perform great vocalist Gregory Porter. His warm cut baritone weaves together the soul music of the seventies and the classic tunes of jazz compositions, which he skilfully combines with engaged gospel and blues. Many local musicians will also perform. It certainly promises to be an event worth listening to and attending.
