The sixteenth Špancirfest, which will take place on the streets and squares of the historic city of Varaždin in the last week of August, will, like all previous years, be a festival of good emotions, with a rich and varied concert program.
Special attention is paid to the music program on the main stage, which is located on the western side of the walls of the old city of Varaždin, which in recent years has hosted the big names of the regional and world music scene, which made Špancirfest one of the most prestigious Croatian festivals.
Concerts in the old city center begin on Saturday, August 23 with the performance of two generations of the Slovenian music scene: iconic music activists Laibach and contemporaries Siddhartha. On Sunday, August 24, it will be the turn of the locals, the world-famous duo 2 Cellos and a favorite of the Varaždin audience Urban & 4. On Monday, August 25, the audience will be warmed up by Zagreb's Malehookers, and the highlight will be provided by a pop music icon Blondie. This is considered one of the most influential American groups, which achieved its greatest success in the late seventies and early eighties with its energetic and eclectic sound. With charismatic Debbie Harry, which brought the band back onto the scene with a big bang in the late 1990s, are coming on the wings of a double album released this May.
The concert program continues on Friday, August 29 and will be reserved for the dance rhythms of old friends of Špancirfest, Kiril Djajkovski – Djaikovski feat TK Wonder & Mc Wasph and famous Londoners Stereo MC's. On Saturday, August 30, a provocative turbo-folk-punk group will perform Mustache, imaginative Kawasaki 3P and a fresh attraction Little girls. The festival will close on August 31 Steam roller and Silent.
Tickets are available on the website Spancirfest or on Entrio.hr and at all points of sale in Varaždin.
