The Dutch violinist André Rieu, internationally celebrated as the "king of the waltz" of our time, is coming to Ljubljana's Stožice on June 14, 2017 with the Johann Strauss Orchestra. This extraordinary world musician and his orchestra will be seen on our stages for the first time.

He sold more than 40 million albums, and he was seen and heard at concerts by more than 700 thousand fans around the world. The repertoire of contemporary Johann Strauss, internationally celebrated as the "waltz king" of our time, consists of the largest musical hits from movies, musicals, opera, as well as from the treasury pop and rock music and, of course - the most beautiful waltzes. The screening of his concert film was the first time in the history of such productions that tickets for more than one million British pounds were sold in just one day. That's it surpassed the previous record, which they had One Direction.
"Emotions are the most important thing in the world" says Rieu. "Decisions should be made with the heart, not with the mind. People often ask me how I decide what to do - it's pure intuition. I love Johann Strauss, but Andrew Lloyd Weber and Bruce Springsteen turn me on too. We should stop limiting ourselves with categorization and boundaries - not only in the context of music, but in general in our lives."
