On September 14, 2016, the legendary rockers The Who will perform in Vienna. The Englishmen, who we have to thank for some of the best rock albums ever, have been active with short breaks in between since 1964. This year they will be seen in Vienna's Stadthalle, where they will perform as part of the Back to The Who tour. Individual tickets, as well as arrangements with organized transport, are already available.
The Who is one of the most successful and influential rock bands in the world. They have already sold more than 100 million albums. The original line-up of the group consists of Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle and Keith Moon. The latter have already passed away, but Townshend and Daltrey are still actively performing on big stages around the world with their new line-up. READ MORE: Concert: Cold Play are coming to Berlin
The group was founded in 1964 and experienced success quite soon. The Who's first single I Can't Explain managed to enter the UK Top 10. Songs followed My Generation, Substitutes and Happy Jack, which sealed the success of four young, talented musicians. They recorded 11 studio albums (the most famous of which are My Generation, Quadrophenia and Who's Next) and with the album Tommy made an important contribution to the development of rock opera. In 1990, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and as many as 7 of their albums appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time - only The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen managed to get more albums onto the chart. This year, The Who will be on tour Back to The Who possible September 14 listen live on Vienna.
