English musician and actor Tricky (Adrian Thaws), known for his dark, rich, layered sound and half five and half spoken compositions, is coming to Wuk in Vienna on February 1st.
After he left Massive Attack, he did Tricky, who interweaves hip hop and rock, as well as high art and pop culture in his works, with his album Maxinquay won the magazine's flattering Album of the Year title NME, while his debut album was nominated for Mercury Prize.
The third album Pre-Millennium Tension, which was accompanied by some media tension, as even before that there were dubious media insinuations and racial intolerance, was released in 1996. Autobiographical album Knowle West Boy from 2009 broke his period of hermetic discographic creations. Since then, he has created three more albums, including last year's False Idols.
