Ljubljana is celebrating! In celebration of Emona's 2000th anniversary, a varied program with numerous exhibitions and events is planned.
In 2014 and 2015, the 2000th anniversary of its construction will be celebrated Emon, which is certainly a milestone that deserves a special celebration. Many exhibitions and projects invite the professional and lay public. V Ljubljana City Museum an exhibition will be on display Emona: a city in the empire, which invites the visitor to enter the world of extraordinary Roman achievements and echoes of Emona in the 20th century. The exhibition shows the structure of the city, how it was created, what kind of relations the newcomers had with the natives, and how they strengthened the consciousness of the Emonians. Romans. The exhibition also puts on display more extensive archaeological excavations and a bunch of objects, companies and projects that found their name in Ljubljana's Roman past.
As part of the celebration of the 2000th anniversary of Emona, we will be able to see, among other things, the exhibition Josef Koudelka: Sledi/Vestiges 1991-2012, which opens in the Jakopič Gallery, a photography competition and the exhibition Remains of the City and Photo of Emona, which will be on display in the summer months in Jakopič's exhibition center in the Tivoli Park on Krakovski embankment in Ljubljana, the exhibition iLjubljana and Urban Development of Ljubljana, which will be on display at the Ljubljana Castle. We will also be able to see the remains of Emona in the center of Ljubljana, in the recently renovated Emona Park. A large exhibition of Roman stories from the crossroads of worlds will be on display at the National Museum of Slovenia. In addition to the exhibitions, there are also many interesting events that will delight even the youngest, such as, for example, Wandering with the Emon Spirits.
