Some new types is an original musical comedy, which will be served on the stage of the City Theater of Ljubljana with both covers that were played by the Beatles in the early period, as well as original compositions that were written by the young actors themselves during the preparation for the performance.
England in the sixties of the last century. A time when young music groups are growing like after the rain and when rock'n'roll echoes in your ears at every step. Young people express their rebellion and desire for changes in society through music, and the Beatles are the most famous of all.
Conceived at the start of the season as a stage adaptation of the Beatles film A Hard Day's Night, the show became much more original due to copyright complications. The story is not about the Beatles, but about a fictional band Some new guys, who is at the beginning of his musical journey. Young musicians dream of a career that will bring them fame, money and endless female fans.
A musical comedy it fills us with nostalgia for the groundbreaking sixties, and the young actors wrote as many as six original compositions during the nine-month preparations, thus making sure that the audience in the hall gets the impression that real musicians are on stage in front of us and not a fictitious band of four young boys. A play written by the two directors Marko Manojlović and playwright Petra Pogorevac, serves us with an entertaining combination of sincere dialogue and as many as nineteen songs, including covers that were played by the Beatles in the early period.
