On the third of October, the opera The Magic Flute, undoubtedly one of Mozart's greatest masterpieces, will be premiered on the stage of the Slovenian National Theater in Maribor. The renowned singer Marcos Fink will perform in one of the main roles, and the master of extravagance Alan Hranitelj will take care of the costume design.
Opera in two acts The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte) is Mozart wrote in the last year of his life, i.e. in 1791. The German libretto was written by Mozart's friend – actor and singer Emanuel Schikaneder. The operatic masterpiece is famous above all for its complex content and rich symbolism, as it depicts the eternal struggle between good and evil, light and dark and conscious and unconscious in each of us.
In the role of Prince Tamino, who is torn between the temptations of the End of the Night (Petya Ivanova) and the enlightened divine rule of Sarastra (Marcos Fink), a singer will perform Martin Sušnik. The birder Papageno, who represents a simple, uneducated individual who cares most about earthly pleasures, will play Jaki Jurgec. He will be the conductor of the orchestra Robert Houlihan, and he will take care of the costumes, which will surely be a real aesthetic treat extravagant designer Alan Hranitelj.

The Magic Flute, premiering on October 3, will running until January. Especially for children and young people, the opera will also be staged in a shorter version and in the Slovenian language.
