Based on the historical chronicles of William Shakespeare Richard III., Richard II. and Henry IV. director Tomaž Pandur deals with the "great mechanism" of the bloody history of the rise to power, the loss of power, and as a result death...
... - all this through personality psychology, "which in their basic essence and bloodstream of thought are still current, present and recognizable today", they wrote in Ljubljana SNG Drami.
Show Richard III. + II. A dramatic diptych with an epilogue about death was created on the basis of three Shakespeare's part – Richard II., Richard III. and Henry IV. It opens up the relationship to power, the eternal longing for power, reveals human passions, it is about a struggle on several levels of consciousness, about the micropsychology of great personalities, about exposing the power that has names and surnames, about the ruthless struggle of living people.
It raises the issue of longing for power, control and possession. "Richard III. will do anything to get her, Richard II. will do anything to keep her. Rise is followed by fall, fall is followed by death. There is only one direction. We all go - like Shakespeare's Henry IV. – to Jerusalem”.
