The first two-week festival of Trnič cheese, which the organizers called "Trnič on every table", will begin this Saturday in Kamnik. The trnič cheese festival is part of the Trnič na evno mizo project, and it will start at the Okusi Kamnika - Podeželje market.
March edition of the food market Tastes of Kamnik - Countryside this time it will be partially transformed into a space for live cooking: there will be 3 renowned Kamnik chefs in the mobile kitchen on the main square, Janez Bratovž (JB restaurant), Janez Uršič (Inn at the mountain eagle) and Primož Repnik (Inn and guesthouse Repnik), prepared dishes with I'm drooling. So will these hard cheese with a characteristic pear shape from Velika Planina will be offered to visitors for tasting, and trnič will also be available for purchase.
The opportunity to taste the delicacies will then be all up to and including April 13 within the framework of the holiday continued in engaged local restaurants with special dishes and menus, which include the thorn more or less creatively. After the end of the first holiday, cheese will also be available throughout Slovenia in selected restaurants and shops.
Thorn cheese, which will be in Institute for Tourism and Sports in the municipality of Kamnik also in the future presented at various events in Slovenia, they want to put on every Slovenian table.
