The 31st Slovenian Music Days, organized by the Ljubljana Festival and which we like to call a celebration of Slovenian music, will take place this year between April 15 and 19. Then there will be many concerts, a musicological symposium, and we will also pay tribute to this year's jubilee, Janez Matičič.
Ljubljana Festival, the largest, oldest and one of the most important festivals in our country, will be held this year between April 15 and 19, 2016 made sure that we will be able to listen to concerts in which different generations of music creators and recreaters will be confronted with numerous christening performances of local works. Slovenian Music Days 2016 will definitely be something special this year. As part of the 31st Slovenian musical event of its kind, the organizers will pay tribute to the jubilant Janez Matičič. Traditional musicological symposium, at which the greatest domestic and also foreign musicologists will present themselves, this time will be dedicated to topics related to musical migrations.
We can listen The Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, which will be conducted by Simon Krečič, and the Big Band of RTV Slovenia with guests under the baton of Tadej Tomšič. Matjaž Robavs and Andreja Kosmač will perform a concert of solos. In the performance of Ensemble musica cubicularis, we will be able to listen to the music of Carniola from the second half of the 18th century.

Matej Šarc, Ursula Aščić, Lovorka Nemeš Dular and Karmen Pečar will perform as soloists. Works by Luciano Beria, Pavel Mihelčič, Witold Lutosławski, Lovro Avbar, Lenart Krečič, Tadej Tomšič, Fran Gerbič, Benjamin Ipavec, Marjan Kozina, Slavko Osterec, Lucijan Marija Škerjanc, Katarina Pustinek Rakar, Ivo Petrić, Primož Ramovš, Larisa Vrhunc will be on the program and Janez Matičič. We will also be able to listen to the setting of Slovenian songs, which effectively strengthened the national consciousness in the 19th century. This year's music days will be accompanied by the presentation of the monograph Sanje Kralj Bervar My means of expression are hands, which talks about the conductor Marko Munih, and an exhibition of paintings by Boris Zaplatil.
