This weekend, an unprecedented concert will take place in Cankarjev dom. Hymn to the Green Jury, a musical based on folk motifs.
They will perform the concert three generations of the Tina Rožanc Folklore Group, and guests will join them on stage, namely Mixed Chamber Choir Ljubljana Madrigalists and soloist Karin Možina and Gregor Vovk. The latter plays Green George, who is known in Slovenian tradition as the bringer of spring.
Mara, played by Karin Možina, is his unrequited love and soul mate. The central story is embedded in various dance formations and musical medigames, occasionally with choral accompaniment. More than 150 performers this evening will present the circular route of Green George through many Slovenian landscapes.
