Ginkgo - a tree-inspired solar charger for phones and tablets

Solar charger Ginkgo

If plants thrive, why not technology? That is, converting sunlight into energy. The Ginkgo solar charger, which was "raised" by XD Design and which addresses the growing need for charging mobile devices and green politics, was inspired by them or solar cells. The idea for the design grew from the tall, lanky, sparsely branched and long-lived ginkgo tree, which Charles Darwin called a living fossil. With the difference that this Ginkgo has a built-in lithium battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh.

It will be in use in five years 4.5 billion of such devices (back in 2013 there were "only" 1.4) and just imagine how much additional energy will be needed and what carbon footprint will leave it. Of course there are green and clean alternatives and this is one of them solar charger Ginkgo, made entirely from recycled plastic and bamboo, just a stand with a rubber band that anchors smartphones and tablets, is made of aluminum.

Solar cells, which act as flowers on top of this solar charger, convert light into energy throughout the day and also they store, so Ginkgo is always ready to charge your device. Battery status and charging status are recorded LED lights at the bottom, and the device via USB cable fill up in two hours. It has enough energy left on one charge to "satisfy" two more phones. You can stack the solar flowers to make the charger even bigger more easily portable and an even more indispensable accessory in the 21st century.
