The film Hidden Figures (2016) is a true and inspiring story about three black female scientists who worked at the American space agency NASA when the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union was at its peak. The film boasts three Oscar nominations, namely for Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Octavia Spencer), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture.

Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe), three brilliant scientists who work on NASA's most complex projects, but in the process collide with racial, gender and cultural prejudices, but despite everyday obstacles and stereotypes, they persist and improve their knowledge of physics, the beginnings of computer science and spacecraft engineering.
