The Lost City of Z is the true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett (played by Charlie Hunnam), who travels to the Amazon in the 1920s to discover evidence of a supposed advanced civilization. The film by the production company Amazon Studios is based on the bestselling book The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon (2009) by writer David Grann.

The existence of an advanced city to this day it remains shrouded in mystery, and since then hundreds have tried to find Fawcett and his son researchers and scientists, but in the experiments they all disappeared forever in the depths of the Amazonian wilderness.
