What is the future of furniture? Paper and tape. At least according to Bulgarian designer Petar Zaharinov. His latest collection of TapeFlips is made entirely and exclusively from these two components. Adhesive tape, which is glued in a checkerboard pattern, thus enables strong and collapsible tables, chairs, bookshelves, beds and even storage boxes.
Idea for TapeFlips it is Petar Zaharinov developed during his preparation for an international design competition that explored the theme of "anti-fragility". The question of how to create furniture that would not be damaged by the ravages of time gave birth to creative, innovative and practical furniture - TapeFlips is easy to adapt, always gives new layouts and enables the dimensions to be adjusted and saves space. They are sheets of paper light and waterproof, and we can print our own patterns on them. The adhesive tape serves as support or hinges and provides 360 degree rotation. The chairs also hold up up to 100 kilograms, and the team intends to develop its own brand that will ensure the quality of each piece.
