Why is World AIDS Day important?
He is currently living in the world about 34 million people with HIV, more than 35 million have already died from the virus, making it one of the most devastating pandemics in human history. Today, despite the scientific progress in the treatment of the HIV virus, numerous laws that protect sufferers and a better understanding of the disease, people still do not know how to protect themselves and others from the HIV virus, and stigmatization and discrimination of the sufferers are still present. World AIDS Day is important because it reminds the public and world governments that the disease has not gone away.

What can I do?
We can first show support with red bow, an international symbol of disease awareness. On this one connection can also solve the quiz, which will tell you how much you really know about HIV.
In Slovenia Project Virus organizes the campaign, this year under the slogan "I put on a condom to avoid HIV". It is about making people aware of sexually transmitted infections, with an emphasis on HIV and HPV viruses, reproductive knowledge and motivation for responsible sexual behavior. All age groups are invited to the event, we can attend the "Let's Talk About Sex" lectures at the Faculty of Medicine and then on December 1st between 8:00 and 20:00 stalls on Prešeren square, where we can chat with the volunteers about sexuality and drink a cup of coffee. In cooperation with the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) and the Infection Clinic, we will be able to meet at the premises of the NIJZ between 1 and 5 p.m. tested for HIV virus free of charge, and well-known Slovenians will also take part in it.
Although World AIDS Day is a great opportunity to speak publicly about HIV, we must remember that awareness is important throughout the year.
