And when you accept them, great changes await you in your life!

Gestalt psychotherapist Evgenij Veritov emphasizes that feelings should not be neglected, because the more we ignore and suppress them, the more negatively they affect our psyche.

12 Gestalt Psychology Lessons That Will Help You Change Your Life For The Better

1. People behave a certain way not because they are bad, but because something made them that way. This awareness has a good effect on the ability to accept people.

2. On the other hand, you don't have to accept those who don't like you and don't bring you anything good. The ability to accept is no less important than the ability to reject. You have all the freedom to not be surrounded by people who do not suit you, especially those who make you feel bad.

3. Tell people how you feel, talk about your feelings.

4. When expressing your feelings, use the phrase < instead of insulting the other party in a fit of anger. "I feel hurt", then you are more likely to be heard. This rule is much more valuable than you think.

5. Trust in others is an important gift that you bestow on yourself.

6. The processes taking place inside you, even if you don't like them, teach you an important lesson.

7. Don't force yourself to think positively if you don't feel like it right now. Focus on problems and problem solving, on a realistic picture of things. But don't let pessimism get the better of you.

8. You have a hard time with things that change your image, even if those changes are for the better.

9. Don't ask yourself, can someone really think/feel/behave like this? Yes – each person has their own unique thought patterns, feelings and ways of acting.

10. If you suppress your feelings and emotions, sooner or later they will erupt with all their violence.

11. When you are in trouble, don't just focus on how you got there, but focus your thoughts on the solutions.

12. What you don't know about yourself controls you more than what you do know.
