Grossmann's festival of fantastic film and wine is considered one of the best in Slovenia, and again this year it brings five days of horror and laughter. At the 13th Grossmann Festival 2017, visitors will be treated to an overview of the best of the current range of genre films while paying tribute to the eternal classics, as well as a rich accompanying program with professional meetings, workshops, exhibitions and music, of course with the visits of numerous guests and tastings of top competition wines. From Tuesday to Saturday, from July 11 to 15, 2017, Ljutomer will have the largest film program ever.
The film section offers an exciting competition program and cult retrospectives. Visit at 13. Grossmann Festival 2017 two eminences of the Belgian film director are coming Harry Kümel and the Italian Grandmaster of Special Effects Sergio Stivaletti, and the pioneers of ex-Yu fantasy are returning Djordje Kadijević and counterfeiters Slobodan Šijan. Among the younger filmmakers, it is worth highlighting the British master of the genre Simon Rumley, the Dutch blockbuster director Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil and a special returnee Tim Vuorensolo, who will also perform his own at the festival master classwith Unfortunately, just before now, George A. Romero, the godfather of zombie movies, canceled his presence.
The opening of Grossmann, which begins on Tuesday, July 11 at 6 p.m., will traditionally be accompanied by a symbolic wine road. A science fiction masterpiece will be shown as the opening film Fritz Lang's Metropolis (1927), which this year celebrates the venerable 90 years. The opening and closing event will be hosted by a popular Slovenian comedian Tin Vodopivec.
