It goes without saying that as small children we play, but above all we like to pretend and immerse ourselves in life roles that we have absorbed into our minds in one way or another by watching our parents, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers..., by watching TV, by reading books, now you could even say by browsing the virtual world.

Everyone goes through this kind of growing up and I've always wondered why we spend so much time as children in this fantasy world. Why do we prefer certain toys, why do we take them to bed, talk to them and take care of them in one way or another...

My childhood imaginary friends are very different from today's, because children now also reach out to the so-called virtual heroes, feed them, clean them, caress them, caress them, talk to them, and the list goes on. Anyway, just like today's children make their parents nervous if they don't get modern "smart" toys, so we used to upset our parents with inconsolable crying if our mothers wanted to put our teddy bears in the washing machine. You know, indescribable sadness came over us, if we only thought about what all happened during the washing, tossing, soaking and drying, and the risk that it would shrink... To make the measure full, the bear did not sleep the night under the protection of our shelter , he was alone, in the cold, and the pincers were pulling at his ears. In addition, anyway, when we met again, we drooled him all over again and dragged him everywhere we could, on the floor, on dusty playgrounds, back to kindergarten and home, and at the end of the day back to bed. I remember that every night before going to sleep I put all my stuffed toys next to the pillow and covered them with a blanket, because without them, diving into the world of dreams was impossible. I couldn't possibly miss one chosen one. That this was such an indispensable part of my childhood, my parents found out one evening during a vacation at sea, when I made a real scene of ichte and traveling tears. I had a brown bear who was always by my side, he spent almost every moment with me, and one afternoon I forgot him in the seaside restaurant where we went for ice cream. I think the sea was to blame for taking my attention away from the adorable companion. Only in the evening did I notice that he was not in my presence, which was followed by a real burst of crying and hysteria. Of course, my parents did everything they could to keep me quiet, for example they borrowed an identical teddy bear from my twin sister, since we each had our own, just to make me fall asleep. However, they forgot a small detail that made the two bears different; you could have poked an eye out of mine.

I fell asleep that night only after I used up the last of my tears. The morning that followed was devoted to the missing furrier, and luckily for me the young lady who had served us the previous day was so considerate as to save the forgotten one in case of our return. Of course, the joy of seeing each other again was immense, and my separation from him was postponed to the day we bought a dog. It ended up in a box and in a closet, carefully guarded, because otherwise it probably would have ended up in the teeth of my next best friend and traveling companion.
