#186 - City Magazine - We're going on holiday

It seems that my mind is already flooded with a "beach" program, as one of the actors in the gambling commercial calls it, and it seems that my life battery is already deep in the red zone, "coughing" those, just a little bit more useful, energy atoms. It will have to last until July 13, when the last poker cards will fall and the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro will finally serve the winner of the grand final in football, and Slovenia will serve the results of the national assembly elections, among other things.

And if I draw parallels between one event and another, the foreground will definitely be colors and a game of power, champagne and triumph, tears and licking the wounds after defeat. But the road to mid-July will still be long, and while on the other side of the ocean they will be fighting for the ball, here the parliamentary candidates and their supporters will be "sweeping" with their competitors. Nothing enviable. Sometimes I find myself humming in my chair imagining what it would be like if those seven numbers on my lucky ticket were the same as the numbers that fell out of the drum. In a word, everything would become simplified, and my free time would have to carry everything at once. A pile of papers, a notebook and a computer would end up in the trash, and I would already be sitting on a plane that would take me on a journey that never ends. And because I wouldn't be me if I didn't dramatize at least a little, with some theatricality, my new life would look something like the chaos in a closet full of rags, forgotten shoes, boxes, and when the lack of space in the apartment loses part of the usual meaning of organization . Otherwise, the wish list of things to experience would be significantly too long, but every other written word would definitely mean a journey into the unknown. And here we are again, when she should go on a trip by plane and every time she plays the part of the outgoing happy individual who is as innocent and content as children going to kindergarten. Again and again I would say goodbye to my favorites like never before, I would leave home again and again and again and again I would be under or overdressed, inappropriately shod and due to excessive euphoria in anticipation of the next day sleepless and unimaginably tired. But in the end it wouldn't be so important anymore, because a new destination, a beach and a new adventure would be quietly waiting for me when, after a few hours of stops, passport and luggage checks, the real vacation would finally begin. And, as the "rolling stones" say, The Rolling Stones: "I Can't Get No Satisfaction"?
