Every year, the Slovenian Film Festival (FSF) presents the production of full-length and short feature films, documentaries and animated films that were made in Slovenia in the previous year. At the festival, the Metoda Badjure Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded, which is the most prestigious award in the field of filmmaking in Slovenia, and the Vesna Award is awarded for the most prominent achievements of filmmakers in the previous year. This year's recipient of the Metoda Badjure award for lifetime achievement in the field of filmmaking is scenographer Dušan Milavec.
From Tuesday (September 13) to Sunday (September 18) will be displayed 98 movies (20 feature films, 13 medium-length and 65 short films), v fight forever will be launched this year 52 movies (14 feature films and 4 medium-length and 34 short films). Med feature films there are 7 feature films, 3 co-productions and 4 documentaries in the competition program.

19th Slovenian Film Festival 2016 and it will not only take place on the screen, but also and perhaps even mainly in front of it; they are its essence meetings, conversations, exchange of experiences and ideas and expanding horizons in the field of film and culture. In this spirit, this year at the Festival of Slovenian Film, they will traditionally continue with a free film-critic workshop Focusing the view for students from coastal schools. The workshop is for students free of charge. They will be in the mornings breakfasts with authors taking care of insight into the work of creators, FSF PRO will expand film horizons and offer additional training. Evening gatherings will be taken care of in Cinnamon bar.
