It's been a bad month since the new version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class was presented to us after many years of waiting. When the AMG lines for the new G were revealed, there wasn't much talk about its most powerful version, we kind of prepared ourselves for months of waiting. But no need, the strongest of the G's is already with us. The Mercedes-AMG G63 has huge horsepower and is a feast for the eyes.
2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 can still handle the terrain perfectly, and shines even more in the asphalt jungle. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, which is a whole second faster than its predecessor was able to do. But how did he manage to do that when he has practically the same engine? It runs the latest version of the G63 4-liter 8-cylinder V engine, from which the engineers squeezed 577 horsepower. Compared to its predecessor, this is only 14 horsepower more. The real secret lies in the reduced weight, because the new generation G63 is worth it 174 kilograms lighter from the previous one.
If you're familiar with the AMG line of cars, you've probably noticed that the G63 has the same number of horsepower as the AMG GT R. That's no coincidence, since it's the same engine after all. But with one huge difference. The G63 can squeeze huge ones out of it 850 Nm of torque, which is 100 Nm more than the AMG GT R and 60 Nm more than the previous G63. All this ensures that, despite the "cubic" shaped SUV, you will be able to compete in acceleration even with some more exotic sports car. With all that power and torque, it manages AMG Speedshift TCT 9-speed automatic transmission, which can also be managed with steering wheel levers. AMG 4MATIC four-wheel drive 60 % allocates the drive power to the rear wheel pair, and the AMG suspension we can set for road or off-road driving.

Visually, the new G63 will be the easiest to recognize by the front grille, which, compared to other G-class Mercedes, has vertical and not slanted slats. The edges of the fenders are additionally exposed, and you can think of bigger ones under them 22-inch rims. The exhaust pipes are routed to the rear of the sills, from which the pleasant melody of the V8 engine can be heard. You can choose between a calm melody or the Huronian thunder of eight cylinders. AMG lettering and red brake calipers are also noticeable. A special series will be available at the beginning of the sale Edition 1, with exclusive lines in matt gray color and red lines on the rear view mirrors. The price is not yet known at the moment, as we are waiting for the official presentation, which will take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
