Scientists still have divided opinion about whether animals can laugh or not. According to the photos taken it is perfectly logical to expect that they are theirs smiles real and genuine. Many animals have a variety of complex visual cues that may preclude the need to laugh. Or when e.g. dogs show their teeth, change their positions and express their feelings and emotions with different expressions. So it would be reasonable to expect that a smile is not always part of theirs complex physical vocabulary.

However, most scientists agree that they have animals complex emotional systembut also that some animals can express themselves like humans with peculiar expressive facial expressions. In 2010, a controversial experiment at McGill University in the United States showed that mice change their expressions when experiencing pain.
