Turkish artist and photographer Zeren Badar has an admirable ability to create stunning creations that happen "a little by accident". A bit of a stretch, but his "Accidents Series" seem like a spontaneous mix of random objects placed on faded photographs.
Zeren Badar carefully researches a modern combination of photography, painting and collage techniques. He places found, slightly whimsical objects such as hair elastics, a man's shoe, cheek sweets and colorful flakes on old, poorly pressed paintings, thus bringing unique and completely unexpected creations with a bold touch of contemporary art.
Through the use of heavy shadows, layering, compression creases and folds creates the illusion of a 3D look, even though they are flat photos. Thus misleading, it draws the observer to take a closer look and try to decipher the visual puzzle. According to the creator, with the unexpected arrangement of objects, he tries to evoke such ambiguity that it attracts the viewer's deep attentive gaze, thereby "in a way it builds new aspects of the immobile".
As the title of his incredible series suggests, Zeren Badar does not create "by accident", but deliberately conducts beautiful, conceptually rich and relaxed sensual images, which we can virtually walk through in the gallery below.
