Baked potatoes it should not be missing in any house, it is one of the most popular meals or side dishes, which is why we love to prepare it. If it often happens to you that you mess up when preparing this dish and somehow the potatoes remain raw inside or fall apart during baking, then you must read the four tips/tricks given by experienced chefs.
1. Cut larger pieces
If you cut larger pieces, then you will reduce the chance of your potatoes falling apart during baking.
2. Boil it until soft
Boil the potatoes before baking. But cook it just long enough that it is soft, but not all the way through! This will make baked potatoes extremely tasty.
3. Add flour
Before you put the potatoes in the oven, roll them in flour or in summer flour. This will combine with the oil and give the potatoes extra crunch.
4. Turn it halfway through baking
When the potatoes are half cooked, carefully turn them over, after about 40 minutes of baking.
A few more tips for the best baked potatoes
- Once the potatoes are baked, everything else should be ready too! You will spend 45 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes baking the potatoes, so organize yourself so that when you take the potatoes out of the oven, you will have the rest of the dishes ready.
- Dry the potatoes well before baking!
- Before cooking or baking, leave the potato in cold water for a while (5 minutes or more) to remove the starch. The water will be milky at first, then it will clear.
- If you want really crispy potatoes, then use the roast juice when baking.
- Potatoes will roast best if you use peanut oil (if you are allergic to nuts, use canola oil) or olive oil.
- If you are going to add crushed garlic and rosemary to the potatoes, then add them 10 minutes before the end of cooking so that they do not burn.
- Salt the potatoes only when they are baked!
