The Week of Slovenian Drama will turn Kranj into a dramatic cultural capital for more than one week, bringing a range of domestic and international performances.
Week of Slovenian drama it is festival, dedicated to Slovenian drama, which this year is already in its forty-fourth performance. A festival that developed from the first week of Slovenian drama of the year 1955 in Celje, offers a rich program every year, which this year will take place over eleven days. In the competition part, we will be able to see eight domestic performances, including an author's project 25.671 (Prešeren Theater Kranj), performances Robinson (Puppet Theater Ljubljana), Welcome to the spiritual animal kingdom (ATP Novo mesto), Boris, Milena, Radko (SNG Drama Ljubljana), Wedding (SNG Drama Ljubljana), Falcon (En-Knap and Maska Ljubljana), Wild game (Mini Theater Ljubljana and City Theater Ptuj) and Paul above the precipice (Slovenian Youth Theatre).
The international part of the performances brings performances Hallway in the Israeli version Beit Zvi, Tomorrow will be better Serbian Toša Jovanović National Theatre, a performance Class, which it implements Bosnian National Theatre and 5fantkov.sk. theaters TUŠ from Bratislava.
"I designed the competition and accompanying program of the 44th Slovenian Drama Week (TSD) on the basis of a set of 45 plays that were created last year based on staging proposals of Slovenian origin, and both programs express genre diversity," he said at the presentation of this year's theater festival in Prešeren's Kranj Theater said the selector of the 44th week of Slovenian drama Gregor Butala.
Every day of the festival, which takes place in Prešeren's theater in Kranj, there will be at least one performance. Performances of the competition program compete for Šelig Award for the best performance of the festival, as well as all performances for audience award. At the closing ceremony of the Week of Slovenian Drama, in addition to the above, other awards will be given Groom's Award for the best dramatic text and the prize for a young playwright.
