Borštnik's meeting, the most important festival of professional theaters in Slovenia, brings over seventy events.
The most important, also the largest and oldest, festival of professional theaters in Slovenia is opening its doors. 48. Borštnik's meeting festival will again serve a rich program, this time under the slogan Let's burn!. Ten days of events bring over seventy theater performances, workshops, reading performances, professional meetings and exhibitions. The competitive program of this year's festival includes ten performances, and the accompanying eight, both programs were selected by the selector, mag. Primož Jesenko, who otherwise said that the situation this year is less exciting than last year's theater season. As Mag. also said. Autumn is coming "in general, in the top ten outstanding performances for projects that, at the content level, strive to discover a better world. They are performances that articulate difficult things and real sharpness, while not remaining on the surface of the reflection of human and social existence."
Four plays are included in the competition program SNG Drama Ljubljana: Christmas at Ivanovi's, Hamlet, The Mother and the Crazy Locomotive. Prešeren's Kranj theater will be present with a performance of 25,671, City Theater of Ljubljana with Black Animal Sadness, Drama SNG Maribor with plays John Gabriel Borkman and Master and Margaret, Slovenian Permanent Theater of Trieste is presented in the competition part with the performance Exercises for anxiety, The Delak Institute and the Metelkova Museum of Contemporary Art and with the play Three Elizabethan Tragedies. Country::R. III. – Epilogue. In addition to the domestic competition and accompanying program, the international program will also be interesting, which this year is particularly marked by two Dutch female monodramas, Cloveški glas and Mr Jones. This year's festival is especially dedicated to contemporary Dutch drama and theatre, and on this occasion the book Contemporary Dutch Drama was also published.
