8 things you didn't know about the new Spider-Man

Spider-Man

These days, we can catch the new Marvel hero Spider-Man in cinemas. The latter can hardly be called a new hero, since in the last 20 years as many as five films have been made about the most famous comic book superhero, and each one was a worldwide box office hit. What is new this time is the face of Peter Parker, who in the Marvel world is portrayed by 21-year-old Tom Holland, an extremely talented actor who has already proven himself with roles in the films Lo imposible (2012) with Naomi Watts and In the Heart of the Sea (In the Heart of the Sea, 2015), where he played alongside Chris Hemsworth.

Holland is a debut in the film world Marvel superheroes experienced last year in a rush Captain America: Civil War (Captain America: Civil War, 2016) in one of the most entertaining action scenes of the entire franchise, and judging by the early reviews coming from across the Atlantic, the new Peter Parker has already completely eclipsed his venerable predecessors Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield. It's not just about Holland; early critics firmly agree that this is the best film about To Spider-Man so far.

Considering that it is a new summer hit, we decided to present it to you eight things you may not have known about Tom Holland's new Spider-Man, who is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors of his generation.

  1. Tom Holland wanted to be Spider-Man since he was a kid. At the age of five, he was running around his room in a makeshift costume. His mother enrolled him in a dance school to calm him down.
  2. When Tom learned that the heads of Marvel Studios were looking for a new Spider-Man, he unexpectedly applied for an audition. He thought there was no way he would get the role, so he auditioned mainly to meet the people who created his favorite superhero.
  3. Before Holland got the role of Peter Parker or Spider-Man, he had to go through a selection that consisted of eight auditions, all of which lasted five months.
  4. Tom didn't know he had been cast as Spider-Man until he saw the post on Marvel's official Instagram account. Two days later, he was already on a plane to Atlanta, where the hit Captain America: Civil War was being filmed.
  5. When Tom tried on the Spider-Man costume for the first time, he was quite disappointed. It was too big for him and didn't fit him. In one interview, he stated, “I was like a sad, old, grumpy Spider-Man.” Meanwhile, it turned out that he was given a costume that was meant for his stuntman, but he was a bit more muscular.
  6. After Tom put on the Spider-Man costume, he was not allowed to take it off himself. He was also banned from leaving the trailer park where he was staying during filming. Nevertheless, he escaped one day, and in order not to attract too much attention, he wore a hoodie over the costume. While walking around the neighborhood with a friend, a passerby approached him and complimented his Spider-Man pants.
  7. Holland was invited to a party in high school. He thought it was a masked party, so he changed into Spider-Man. But it was a normal party, and instead of going home in a change of clothes, the would-be superhero spent the entire evening in costume, pretending to be on a secret mission.
  8. To give Holland the best possible idea of what it's like in American high schools, Marvel's producers enrolled him in a high school in the Bronx, and Tom attended it for three days under a false name. When asked by his classmates who he was and why he was at their school, he replied that he was Spider-Man and that he was on a secret mission. Of course, no one believed him.

You can catch the new Spider-Man these days in cinema, and a sequel has already been announced.
