9 reasons why you should buy an iPhone XR instead of an iPhone XS

Apple introduced the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR at its launch event on September 12. Which one should you choose?

For what reasons is it worth buying its less powerful sibling, the iPhone XR, than the iPhone XS model?

1. Price difference

The iPhone XR is significantly cheaper than the iPhone XS. The latter will cost at least €1,209 on the Slovenian market, while the price of the former is currently unknown. Based on American prices, we can assume that it will not exceed €1,000. Having said that, it should be noted that additional storage space on both phones will cost even more.

2. Greater choice of colors

The iPhone XS and XS Max will be available to consumers in silver, space gray and gold. In contrast, the iPhone XR will be available in as many as six color versions: black, white, yellow, red, blue and coral.

3. Bigger screen

None of the entry-level phones can compare to the iPhone XS Max, which includes a massive 6.5-inch screen. Still, it's not hard to tell that the XR's 6.1-inch LCD screen is larger than the 5.8-inch OLED screen that's part of the XR model.

4. Identical front camera

All three Apple trumps contain a front camera with a resolution of 7 MP. This uses the TrueDepth system and is key to the smooth functioning of Face ID.

5. Almost the same rear camera

The iPhone XR has a slightly less efficient camera.

The iPhone XR does not significantly differ from its more expensive relatives even in terms of the rear camera with a resolution of 12 MP. The only difference can be found in the method of approach. Unlike the XS and XS Max, the XR does not have a telephoto lens, so it doesn't offer a 6x digital zoom, but a 3x digital zoom.

6. Same processor

Apple's new generation phones are powered by the 6-core A12 Bionic processor, which is capable of performing 5 trillion operations every second. Its predecessor, the A11 Bionic, was capable of a 'modest' 600 billion operations per second.

7. More durable battery

The XR will last longer than the XS and XS Max on a single charge.

Compared to the iPhone, which allowed 12 to 13 hours of continuous use after a single charge, the iPhone XS works for 30 minutes, and the XS Max for 90 minutes longer. In this regard, the iPhone XR is the most powerful phone from the new line, as its battery life ranges from 15.5 to 16.5 hours.

8. Simultaneous use of two SIM cards

The new iPhones offer the possibility of simultaneous use of two SIM cards: physical and Apple's integrated e-SIM card. Thanks to this feature, the user will have two phone numbers.
